The Nightmares are a brand new four-piece outfit based in Wales, purveying keys-driven, melancholic alt-pop. They’ve just announced that their debut EP will be released on 12 April and its first single, the beauteous ‘Adore’, is out now. Vocalist and guitarist Adam Parslow says that it’s“a song about unconditional love and wanting to be absolutely everything for someone.”
The self-titled EP will be released via Pretty Hate Records and will have a limited physical release on cassette format (Numbered to 100), as well as being available digitally. There’s a sombre lilt to the majority of the tracks and a pervading sense of isolation pulsating through the EP, yet the hooks are undeniable. The Nightmares’ debut collection of tracks is a compelling listen, harking back to the perfect pop stylings of Joy Division and New Order, whilst also stamping out the band’s own identity and demonstrating their songwriting prowess.
