Sea Girls release new single ‘Open Up Your Head’

Sea Girls have today unleashed their new single “Open Up Your Head” on the world, another glimpse from their as yet unannounced and highly anticipated debut album, due later this year. The track premiered as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record, and is their first to be released since their BBC Sound of 2019 shortlist nomination at the end of last year.

Following on from their huge previous single “All I Want To Hear You Say”, “Open Up Your Head” fits seamlessly in to the band’s stellar back catalogue and yet inches the band ever closer to festival headlining stardom. The importance of a hook and melody isn’t lost on Sea Girls, and they continue to pack them into their tracks without caution. Earworms of the most perilous kind.

Vocalist Henry Camamile describes the song:
“’Open Up Your Head’ is about being your own worst enemy but having someone believing in you unconditionally. Some people struggle with self-esteem, some people party too hard, and some people feel stuck from making wrong choices. It can be crucial having someone who offers a hand out of those places we don’t want to remain in”

Renowned for their frenetic, sweat-drenched live shows, the band will kick off their upcoming UK tour in Oxford on 25th Feb, taking in Birmingham, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester, Cardiff, Portsmouth, and rounding off at London’s Heaven on 8th March.

Sea Girls rounded off an already incredible 2018 with an inclusion on the BBC’s Sound Of 2019 list, where they were not only one of only two unsigned acts but the only band to be included.
The band will also be playing a huge slew of festivals throughout 2019, having already been announced for Neighbourhood Weekender, Community Festival, Tramlines and Kendal Calling, with many more to come.
