Ed Poole set for debut album ‘Envelop/Erase’

Following the release of two stand-alone singles in 2018, the upbeat Underground with You and the mellow, atmospheric (Falling Apart, Together) On Separate Sides, Doing Life Records recently announced that Ed Poole’s self-produced debut album, Envelop/Erase, will be released on 15thFebruary 2019.

To announce the release, Ed has released a music video for the first single, Knives, filmed in true DIY fashion with his wife in his home in Liverpool. On the single, Ed says the song is about, “an ongoing battle that goes on in my own head, between distractions and focus, and the subsequent attempt to win that battle”.

Envelop/Erase is the culmination of 2 years’ work, with Ed taking on production himself to hone in and develop the distinctive sound of the album. It is a step forward sonically for him, with catchy melodies, at times choral vocals and acoustic guitars intertwined with synths, drum machines and the occasional fuzz. According to Ed, Envelop/Erase, “marks a journey towards throwing off a veil of perception and false expectation and learning to trust your own inner voice”.

Ed will head out on select number of dates with London-based B-Sydes this February to support the album.

16th February- Cambridge, Relevant Records Cafe

22nd February- Manchester, Gulliver’s (supporting Andy Oliveri)

23rd February- Album Launch Show @ Liverpool, Outpost
