She Makes War announces 2019 live dates

Bristol’s creative powerhouse She Makes War has announced a string of live dates for 2019, in addition to announcing deluxe bundles of her 2016 album, Direction Of Travel.

Performing throughout February, March, April and May, She Makes War – the stage moniker of multi-instrumentalist Laura Kidd – will be supporting Sleeper, Ferocious Dog, Desperate Journalist, The Levellers and The Juliana Hatfield Three, in addition to a War Child Brits Week show at London’s Omeara on the 15th February alongside Frank Turner and Johnny Lloyd, and a slot at Somerset’s Farmfest in July.

She has also revealed details of forthcoming deluxe bundles of her 2016 album Direction Of Travel – which will also be the first time the album has been made available in a vinyl format – and which are available to pre-order now from shemakeswar.com.

2018 saw the release of She Makes War’s fourth album, Brace For Impact, which received critical acclaim from the likes of Kerrang!, Louder Than War and The Sun, and hit #15 in the Independent Albums Chart.

Proving herself a socially conscious and aware force for good, last year Laura penned an open letter to women and non-binary people who may feel uncomfortable or unsafe at shows, assuring them that every She Makes War gig provides a safe environment for all.

Now, highlighting the plight of so many individuals, Laura has led a fundraising campaign to raise money for Anthony, who found himself homeless after losing his job and having his possessions stolen. The campaign raised £3000 in two days, allowing Anthony to purchase new work clothes, secure a full time job as a head chef and move into a shared house. The full story can be read here.
