Sugarwolf announce debut single ‘Loose Ends’

Announcing their brand-new name, Belfast based quartet Sugarwolf are rapidly building anticipation and intrigue around their upcoming release. Rising from the ashes of former band Making Monsters the band have returned with a new name, sound and attitude. No strangers to the DIY graft of the Irish and UK rock scenes, Sugarwolf previously released all their music independently. Juxtaposing the two sides of their new distinctive sound, Sugarwolf, represents both the rock-oriented side as well as having a melodic and pop base. Led by front woman Emma Gallagher the band previously secured a reputation as one of Ireland’s most exciting rock outfits and plan to continue to do so.

Following a multitude of successful releases, they received extensive airplay on BBC Radio 1, Across the Line, Kerrang Radio and others. Sharing the stage with the likes of Black Peaks, Young Guns, Fightstar, We Came As Romans, and Skindred helped earn the band the reputation as one of the best live acts in Ireland, receiving gushing praise from the likes of Kerrang! Magazine, Rock Sound, Metal Hammer, BBC Radio and many more.

Commenting on the single, Emma says: “Loose Ends was the beginning of me getting my lyrical ‘groove’ in motion. There’s not a lot of lyrical content I’ve written over the years that feels true to me, I was never honest. Sugarwolf is the beginning of something very special for all of us and a creative outlet for my mind. Loose Ends is about overcoming control and sticking up for yourself. I guess this song was the start of a lot of things, and that is why we have chosen it as our first single”.

Citing influence from the likes of Deftones, Wolf Alice and Don Broco their diverse and uniquely organic brand of rock looks fixed to set them apart from the park of rising hopefuls in 2019. Their single ‘Loose Ends’ is released on 15th February 2019 with further details TBA.
