Bowling For Soup entertained a packed out O2 Guildhall Southampton as they brought their Christmas style set to the venue.
First up was all female band Not Ur Girlfrenz all certainly knew how to get the crowd pumped.
The trio started with Warped as well as a My Chemical Romance cover of I’m Not Okay (I Promise) which was a particular highlight. They played the likes of Game Over and Never Stop before they performed a festive cover of Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree. The cover was great and just what the crowd needed to get into the Christmas mood. Not Ur Girlfrenz finished on No One Asked You Anyway as you could tell everyone was enjoying themselves.
Next up was the brilliant Patent Pending as they started with Shake Weights & Moving Crates and lead singer Joe built up lots of atmosphere and entertained the crowd like he always does. The band played the likes of Let Go and Classic You alongside Bowling for Soup lead singer Jaret Reddick which was a treat for everyone. After this, Patent Pending showed how they can get a packed out crowd dancing with Hey Mario which lots of people in the venue was singing along and enjoying every minute of it. One song most people knew was their cover of Can’t Take My Eyes of You which showed how much fun Patent Pending has on stage. They finished on Douchbag as the crowd was perfectly warmed up for the main event. We caught up with Bowling For Soup’s drummer Gary Wiseman before the show, check out the interview below!
Bowling for Soup provided the ultimate Christmas party as they performed Corner Store on Christmas partially throughout the set before they played the likes of hits Get Happy and Emily. They played a classic cover of Stacey’s Mom as well as festive song Ohio (Come Back to Texas). Another festive song on the night included Frosty the Snowman which certainly had a pop-punk element to it. Bowling for Soup finished on classics Girl All The Bad Guys Want as well as their SR-71 cover of 1985 which was a real hit for fans. It was a brilliant night and I couldn’t fault Bowling For Soup’s stage presence throughout and they chose the perfect two bands to accompany them.
