“Running In Place is about struggling with change and just wanting to understand and find your place in the world, metaphorically and literally.” said vocalist Andrew Summers. “We’re part of this generation that’s been told we can achieve anything and to follow our dreams and do what makes us happy, but when we can’t reach these unrealistic expectations we put on ourselves it can really lessen the things we actually have achieved. So really it’s about coming to terms with that and trying to accept what you’re capable of and be happy with what you have.”

“The video plays off that in the way that social media has us put forward these ideal versions of ourselves that are probably only barely who we actually are, and TikTok is really the epitome of all of that. It’s people lipsyncing and playing dress up and I’m pretty obsessed with it. I think I was born 20 years too early. Anyway, we thought we’d ask our friends and fans to submit videos to us making fun of me and they nailed it.
