CarFest announces charity partners for 2019

CarFest, the brainchild of Chris Evans, has confirmed the charities it will be raising money for in 2019. BBC Children in Need remains in place as CarFest’s principal charity partner and will receive 50% of the total funds raised. The following four charities will each receive 10% of the total funds raised:

– Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust (Registered Charity No.1096491 in England & Wales and SCO44013 in Scotland)

– Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity (Registered Charity No.1070532)

– Starlight Children’s Foundation (Registered Charity No.296058 in England & Wales and SC047600 in Scotland)

– Teenage Cancer Trust (Registered Charity No.1062559 in England & Wales and SC039757 in Scotland)

More details on the charity/charities to benefit from the final 10% will be announced soon.

CarFest 2018 raised just under £3.1 million for BBC Children in Need. Since CarFest started in 2012, it has raised over £13.5 million for BBC Children in Need.

The four new charity partners were selected by Chris Evans and the CarFest team from a shortlist of UK children’s charities.

Teenage Cancer Trust Honorary Patron, Roger Daltrey CBE, and legendary frontman of The Who said:

“I can’t thank Chris and the team enough for choosing Teenage Cancer Trust as one of the new partners for CarFest 2019! This is a huge opportunity for the charity, which relies entirely on voluntary donations. Right now, for every young person Teenage Cancer Trust reaches with its world-leading and age-appropriate care, there’s another it can’t, so this support is vital. Without teenagers having a passion for music, there would be no Rock n Roll; being able to give back to this age group is very important to me. CarFest has achieved great things over the years in support of Children in Need – we’re delighted to be given this chance and are really proud to be a part of it!”

Rainbow Trust Ambassador Gyles Brandreth said:

“Rainbow Trust is a fantastic children’s charity close to my heart. Rainbow Trust Family Support Workers support the entire family, helping them to cope when they are caring for a seriously ill child. This partnership is a wonderful opportunity for the charity and it is hugely grateful of the support from CarFest and Chris Evans.”

CarFest presents two magical weekends of music, cars and family fun for all ages, with something for every family member; three multi-genre live music stages, weird and wonderful automobiles, jaw-dropping track shows, mouth-watering food and an eclectic schedule of entertainment and activities spread across a variety of themed areas.
