EP Review: 7he 7ouch – SeventySeven

Originally from Greece but now of that there London the unsigned 7HE 7OUCH have dropped a pretty stunning E.P of Arena filling Rock ‘N’ Roll. Opening track ‘Soloution’ hooks you in with a catch of the day chorus and seamless gear shifting verses. ‘You Can’ is a spirit-raising anthemic joy of Power Pop from Rock’s top sing-a-long shelf while ‘My Face (Nanana) has one too many MTV (circa the late eighties) cliches for the dairy intolerant. The “wohoah’s and na-na-na’s” should come in a glass box that displays the words ‘Only use in the case of a lyrical emergency’ in huge bold print. ‘Knobs’ is french polish smooth and in need of a little grit before a heel-kicking ‘Rage’ punches the blue-collar clock. Final cut ‘Blitz’ cuts a little loose with a lipstick smear of R’n’R. On this evidence, 7HE 7OUCH could be something special.
