The Raelyn Nelson Band release new single ‘Mama Cry’

Country/Garage rockers, The Raelyn Nelson Band, have released a brand new single and video, Mama Cry:

For Mama Cry, a rollicking ‘punk’try’ tune, Raelyn worked with a brand new co-writer: RNB tour manager, and her little sister, Scout.

‘Basically, Scout and I wrote this tune after she made our mom cry one day. We hate seeing her cry and started singing ‘Why Why Why…does mama gotta cry cry cry?’ Since Scout recently graduated from college, the verses kinda fell into place as the song takes you through leaving childhood behind and chasing dreams.’

While spending the first half of 2018 on the road, including such diverse gigs as opening for legendary punk band Decendents, a slot on Willie’s 4th of July Picnic, and headlining the Whisky A Go Go, the RNB is looking forward to releasing some new music.

‘We did a bunch of recording the first of the year, but our touring schedule made it a little challenging, as far as getting the stuff mixed and mastered. We still write, record, and produce everything ourselves, so it’s been a matter of just finding the time to finish it all. When you throw in the music videos we like to make for each of our singles, well…you get the picture. That being said, you can imagine how excited we are to have a new collection of songs finished and ready for people to hear.’

With a busy tour schedule the rest of 2018, including stops at the Summer Sounds festival in Cedarburg, Wisconsin and the Muddy Roots Festival in Cookeville, Tennessee, the RNB shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

‘We are still trying to keep it simple. Write songs, record them, make a video, then go out and play them for people. We can’t wait for everyone to finally hear what we’ve been up to, lately’
