Heart Tide has just unveiled their brand new single Few Things, which is the second new piece of music released by the Finnish alt-rocker in the last year. The track is paired up online with previous single Blame, which was released in March.
On Few Things, Heart Tide is setting aside the electronic elements and production that feature on many of their songs. Instead the song relies on chunky, arena-rock riff and tight drum beats which are supported by familiar melancholic vocals and introspective lyrics from Samu Hietainen: ”Playing these strings until my fingers bleed / That’s my way of coping with all that I feel / Chills creep up my spine / My breath is totally gone / Sometimes I wonder why it keeps haunting me”.
Heart Tide released their first mixtape Vulnerable for free in December and is gearing up for the second one with the releases of Blame and Few Things. Fan reception for this way of releasing was considered extremely positive by Hietainen. Based on promises of more new music coming out later, it’s going to be an exciting year for fans of Heart Tide.
