Album Review: Lovebites – Social Hell

Birmingham (UK) four piece Lovebites release their deliciously D.I.Y E.P ‘Social Hell’. Opening track ‘Tick Along’ has a wonderfully melodic thick cut Indie, 70’s Rock edge. The slow build up laconically bursts into life as a plethora of styles new and old are blended, boiled and buoyed by the Lovebites bullish touch. ‘Duppy’ motors along the Libertines road before screeching to a halt at the Arctic Punk crossroads. Next up is the anthemic manic ‘Just Fall’ which donkey kicks title track and lead single ‘Social Hell’ on to the stage. The celebratory sunshine riff, crashing drums and head tilting, arms in the air verse/chorus bring an all too sudden end to this refreshingly eclectic British release.
