Album Review: Bury Tomorrow – Black Flame

Bury tomorrow are currently set to release their 5th studio album, Black Flame on Friday 13th July 2018. BT fans are hanging on the edge of their seats, waiting for this album to drop, even after they have already been given a nice taster of what to expect from the Black Flame album, as the band released a few music videos, earlier this year. If you want to get the feel of the new album, check out the video below for recently released, The Age.

All I can say without giving too much away, is that they are in for a treat. The new album is definitely worth pre-order and I recommend that you do it quick.

This album keeps the same metalcore style that Bury Tomorrow are well known for, with an added injection of more complex guitar solos and percussion. With countless breakdowns and circle pit driven beats at a much faster pace, you can predict that the fans will be raring to make some destruction on the floor when played live. The album’s songs have really catchy lyrics, that make you want to sing along… Or scream, just try not to do this on the bus with your headphones on. When listening to the album for the first time, you can tell that you are listening to Bury Tomorrow from the very first note, however there is this hint of uniqueness that is definitely attending to a more mature metalcore audience. Black Flame really defines the newly evolved Bury Tomorrow and concisely portrays the message they are sending to the listener.

The absolute power that is shown in a majority of songs on the new album, such as, Knife Of Gold, Adrenaline  and Stormbringer, is homage to their earlier work on albums such as, Runes and Earthbound. This truly is a belter of an album.

One of my favourites and I fully recommend for you to listen to is Knife Of Gold– Within the first few seconds of the track the piercing scream from lead vocalist Dani Winter-Bates, hits your body like a freight train combined with the fast paced tempo and creative riffs make this song perfect. Jason Cameron’s softer contrasting vocals aren’t like the typical American whiny vocals you expect from a metalcore band, they are clean and clear, which is refreshing to hear. Encapsulated with talented guitar solos, the song ramps up the listener making you feel like your  ready to take on any challenges in the day ahead.

Within each song of Black Flame, you can tell that every member has put in so much hard work and has poured immense passion into refining each of their skills to create this master piece. The British metalcore masters, have produced a bomb of an album, making this one of my favourites. Which in my personal opinion, rivals the brand new album release from Parkway Drive, Reverence.

Overall, I highly recommend you to listen to this album. Again, Pre-order now as this is set for release Friday 13th July. Get one for yourself, for your car,  your sister, heck even your nan. Then play the album on Spotify after the 13th and show your support to a well deserving British metalcore band.
