Brand new band New Graves are launching in style with their debut single ‘Empty Lungs’. The melodic hardcore quintet, which features ex-members of High Hopes and When We Were Wolves, have been working relentlessly behind the scenes and are ready to deliver their message to the world.
‘New Graves is a dynamic statement of intent, and ‘Empty Lungs’ is the first single from a collection of songs focused on recovery and self-help,” explains drummer Daryl Pryor.
‘Empty Lungs’ is the first in a series of singles, which were produced by Fredrik Nordstrom (Bring Me The Horizon, Architects, We Killed The Prom Queen) and explores loss, isolation and recovery, reflecting on the ever-growing dark cloud of negative thoughts, self-doubt and criticism that overshadow the healing process.
Pryor continues: ‘The coffins are a totem for laying your fears and anxieties to rest, the centre-piece in our own battles to recover from personal trauma; lost friends, divided families and negative self image, these songs are our public decision to be stronger than the struggle. We’re making everything New Graves, from the Facebook community to the live shows, into a common space for people to fight off those demons.’
New Graves will make their live debut at B Love in Basingstoke on 8th July, as main support to Hacktivist.
