Adam Day aka County Line Runner has been captivating audiences since his first band Lyrebirds.
His dynamic lyrics and turn of phrase looks at universal feelings and topics from another angle. His songs are peppered with lyrics such as ‘Like a secret that lurks in my family line, you’re on my mind’.
After Lyrebirds split, Day featured on the Cosmo EP at the request of his friend Felix White (The Maccabees), penning standout track ‘Neon Citied Sea’, featuring Florence Welch on backing vocals.
Now Day has created County Line Runner alongside long term friend Sam Baldwin, taking influences from Americana artists as well as Tom Petty and 80’s / 90’s Bob Dylan.
Hard To Find is the first single to be released by County Line Runner, out 29th June on Paper Thin Hotel Records.
Day ventured to Liverpool to team up with former member of The Coral Bill Ryder Jones who produced the song.
Its fast pace and warm piano depicts a couple breaking up in London. ‘You’ll go out of your mind trying to find what they need” sings Day, “Love is hard to find but it’s harder to leave’.
Of the song Day explains ‘Hard To Find is about talking someone around. When there seems no way forward. They’ve hit that turning point in the road. It’s when they’re forced to go in a different direction’.
‘Hard To Find’ is the first of a series of releases over the forthcoming months.
