LA-based duo FTRZ, the new project of musician/actor Chet Hanks (son of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson) and his collaborator, musician Drew Arthur will release The Ocean Park EP on August 24.
The first single is available now on all digital platforms.
A music video for the first single Models premiered yesterday on Billboard and is now streaming below!
The duo’s moniker is derived from the fact that they had originally intended to ‘feature’ on each other’s songs, before joining forces.
Hanks, who started rapping in 2010 while attending Northwestern University, is currently co-starring on Empire (playing the character Blake) and Shameless and in the upcoming World War II drama, Greyhounds. He has also appeared on Curb Your Enthusiasm and a number of other projects.
Drew has been performing in bands since he was a teenager and has opened up for acts such as 30 Seconds to Mars, Angels and Airwaves, and My Chemical Romance.
They met coincidentally through a mutual friend in 2016 and quickly bonded over their love of music and their shared sobriety, both having struggled with substance abuse.
The new single Models, highlights this shared past and how their sobriety and recovery has had a profound impact on their lives.
Hanks says, ‘Models is about the journey through our past of substance abuse that lead us to be the better people we are today. How the wrong path can lead you to the right path if you make a change.’
