It was girl power at Southampton’s 1865 as the three bands last Wednesday night (23rd May 2018), Sick N’ Beautiful, Kane’d and Lilith and the Knight, were all fronted by females. It was a great night that showcased plenty of talent with Italians Sick ‘N’ Beautiful heading the night on their ‘We C*m In Peace Tour. We caught up with the band beforehand as we talked about their gig, latest music and more!
Lilith and the Knight kicked off the proceedings and they played a track titled Fallen on the night which was about mental health which really touched home to me. They also played a cover by Deftones which was Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away) and was a really original version of the track.
Another great addition on the night was Holy Bird that created plenty of energy from vocalist Lilith who engaged with fans throughout the band’s set. Lilith and the Knight finished on their latest single Rain Dance which was an epic way to end their set and certainly warmed up the crowd.
Next up were seven piece Welsh rock band Kane’d as right from the night they provided a lot of fun and energy to their set. Fronted by Steph, Stacey & Chez, the band played a new song off their titled Show Me Your Skeleton that went down really well with fans.
It was a really electric set that provided old school metal with a twist. The band played Rise, which is the title song off their 2015 album, and this was a more emotional slower song that was nice to hear. The band quickly went more heavier with 3-2-1 as they looked to wrap up their epic set. This band have a bright future of them for sure!
Last up were the brilliant Sick N’ Beautiful who stole the show with their outfits alone. Travelling from their home planet Acheron LV426, the band showed how awesome they really were from start to finish.
Leading on vocals was the brilliant Herma who provided pitch perfect lyrics throughout their set. The band played the likes of Fire True and Radio Siren to kick the party off as they continued to play All Wanna Go To Heaven and Slam. It was fantastic to watch visually also with plenty of lasers and sparks throughout the set. The band finished their set with New Witch Egg however they soon went on for an encore as they sang Katy Perry’s E.T. and Maxin Angels which was a perfect way to send their set. With the band’s latest album Element of Sex only available on tour at the moment, be sure to catch these live soon!
All these bands have plenty of potential and could easily headline bigger and better shows in the future. The only downside of the night was that the venue was not full – one could only hope fans will one day realise how good these bands really are.
