Following on from a performance at The Electric Ballroom for Desertfest 2018 and plays on the Radio 1 Rock Show, London / Southend based Space-Doom four piece ADCX have shared a new video for recent single Comet Shoemaker taken from their debut album The Day I Heard The Moon Roar.
Combining post-rock, synth wave, doom, noise and samples, ADCX hypnotize listeners with their dramatic soundscapes on record and add their energy and original stage projections to their live shows. ADCX is not just a band but also a collective art project which includes short stories, oil paintings and videos which are all created by the band themselves. The band is made up of Ken Canham, Dan Philp, Leon Dodimead and Greg Kiss.
Their new video was created by Liam Brazier, an acclaimed animator and illustrator famed for his work with Queens of the Stone Age, Marvel and Megadeath and others. Brazier was approached by the band in 2017 with the idea of an animated music video that followed the plot and artwork of Comet Shoemaker, a chapter taken from the narrative partner of the ADCX debut album.
The video shows a control room and technicians who are trying to make contact with an alien, who takes control of one of the technicians and drags him into the visual display. The song and narrative was inspired by the crash of Comet Shoemaker Levy 9 into Jupiter and the concept of an alien being having been trapped within the comet for millennia until finally being released into the Universe on impact.
