Following their recent return with an appearance at this year’s Live at Leeds festival and ASH announce details of a new instant grat track Confessions In The Pool ahead of the release of their seventh album Islands on 18th May.
A celebration of friendship in the darkest of hours, the effervescent synths-led Confessions In The Pool emerged following a somewhat therapeutic sojourn in Miami for Tim Wheeler – another entry to an already enviable song-writing catalogue for the band’s principal writer.
The band mark a return home later this month having confirmed their showing at the BBC’s Biggest Weekend Festival in Belfast – scene of many significant moments over the past twenty five years since their inception in 1992. Following 2015’s Kablammo after the band’s self-imposed album hiatus since 2007’s Twilight Of The Innocents – Islands is an open-hearted collection of songs drawn from frontman Tim Wheeler’s reflective lyrical axis dealing with friendship and betrayal, love and loss, an album which reaffirms the band’s status as one of the most idiosyncratic and singularly thrilling guitar bands on these islands
