Travis ‘The Man Who’ Live! Turin Brakes Announced As Special Guests For June Live Dates

Travis, one of Britain’s best loved bands play their classic album The Man Who live in full for two limited runs this June & December. Joining Travis on their June dates are one of the finest independent bands of the last decade, Turin Brakes.

Released 19 years ago, Travis’ The Man Who sounds as fresh today as it did then. One of the most successful British albums of the last 20 years, it spawned the timeless singles, ‘Writing To Reach You’, ‘Driftwood’, ‘Turn’ and possibly the band’s most iconic song, ‘Why Does It Always Rain On Me’.

Produced by Nigel Godrich, The Man Who spent an astonishing 11 weeks at Number 1, selling nearly 3 million copies. It was the biggest selling UK album in 2000, propelled by an incendiary Glastonbury performance in the rain! Recognition quickly followed including Ivor Novello Awards for ‘Best Songwriter’ & ‘Best Contemporary Song’ for Why Does It Always Rain On Me? and BRIT Awards for ‘Best British Band’ and ‘Best British Album’.

To date Travis have enjoyed two No.1 LPs, five Top Ten singles and more than 8 million record sales in their illustrious career and released their latest critically acclaimed album Everything At Once in 2016.

Following a sold out tour and a critically acclaimed new album, London four piece Turin Brakes will also join Travis as special guests on their June run of The Man Who Live.

School friends Olly Knights and Gale Paridjanian formed Turin Brakes in Balham South London and went onto release Mercury Music Prize nominated debut album The Optimist in 2001 followed by Ether Song in 2003 which featured the top 5 hit single Pain Killer (Summer Rain). After an impressive 17 years together, seven studio albums and over a million records sold worldwide, the band released their eighth studio album Invisible Storm earlier this year to much acclaim.
