Leeds’ Fizzy Blood reveal their colossal new single Pink Magic today. Commanding and anthemic, the track showcases a new strength to Fizzy Blood’s sound.
”Pink Magic’ is probably the easiest song we’ve ever written. It kind of just fell into our laps when together we were messing around with a korg, we got a bit of a trance-like groove going and just decided to see how far we could take that before it became boring We never found the answer, instead we got Pink Magic.
‘The lead guitar part, which at the time I didn’t know was gonna become Pink Magic, came about when I was messing around with a musical phone in the call centre I worked in at the time. Each key was assigned a different pitch and pressing them in the order of a phone number pulled from the Hull phone book gives you the melody you hear in the intro’

Pink Magic is supported by the PRSF Momentum Fund. The track follows previous single CFO, which landed Fizzy Blood their first daytime BBC Radio 1 play courtesy of Clara Amfo. Both tracks will feature on forthcoming EP Pink Magic, which the band announce will come later this year on Killing Moon.
‘The ‘Pink Magic’ EP is our third and final EP. It’s taken us a few years to figure out who we are as a band, as musicians and as people, and this is the happiest we’ve ever been with our music. In the UK music scene it’s easy to get boxed in, we’ve managed to tour with the likes of While She Sleeps and then go straight on to hit the road with Spring King, very different crowds and very different music, however, all this has taught us is that we’re not a metal band and we’re not an indie band, we want to be the band that excites all listeners of music and more, so stop giving out titles and just enjoy it. After touring and being around each other non stop for the past 4 years, we’re now very comfortable in our own skin. Our third EP is what we believe to be the most accurate representation of who we are as a band and where we want to take our music moving forward. We’re happy to present the EPs as a trilogy but I wouldn’t kid anyone and say this was the plan from the start. These three offerings will have to tide you over till we’re finished with what comes next…’
