EP Review: IDestroy ‘Pure Joy of Life’

Bristolian Grrl trio drop kick their brand new E.P ‘Pure Joy Of Life’ over the Punk fence watching it splash land into the Riot-Rock paddling pool. The Brit, hole-ish ‘Milkshake Sky’ slurs, purrs and points youthful fingers at a lost generation of lipstick smeared candy Pop. Leading single ‘Lemons’ is melodic and catchy plus it’s armed with some true trash bang lyrics of throwaway anger. Title track ‘Pure Joy Of Life’ is a morning after pizza and red bull breakfast while ‘Alcohol And Vitamins’ has a darker more abusive edge, which is a strangely welcome E.P balancer. Final track ‘And You Know’ is spat out like a venomous MC5 cobra. IDestroy has laid down a serious marker of intent with this battery licking release of Party-Punk bravado.
