Boomtown’s industrial beast of bass will be following a tradition of takeovers from some of the most well respected underground labels in the UK; drum & bass pioneers are on Hospitality duty with legends such as Camo & Krooked, Danny Byrd, Etherwood, London Elektricity and S.P.Y shelling out a classic jungle set. Fusing eclectic underground sounds with drum & bass like no other, Critical Records return with label boss Kasra and a serious selection of back to backs including Halogenix B2B The Upbeats and Sam Binga B2B Hyroglifics fusing bass with dancehall, garage and grime.
Celebrating 20 years of formidable drum & bass with Virus Records, Ed Rush and Optical will be taking over Boomtown’s infamous powerhouse with a set of classics to educate and excite in equal measure. King of Brazilian D&B, DJ Marky will be swapping San Paulo for Winchester for his Boomtown debut whilst Clipz (aka Redlight), a figurehead in the genre from an early age, returns to his former moniker after a 10 year hiatus for an exciting new chapter – expect a rare specialist set with some fresh new selections. As if that weren’t enough, it seems this Nuclear monster has been given an upgrade to extend its effervescent presence across the sites, it will have to be seen to be believed.
Over at the Psyforst Wonka-Vision will be taking over for a one night special of beastly sounds supplied by dynamic duo Wonka & Syn, mixing extraordinaire Slipmat, heavy Bristol bass man Mr Benn and contemporary reggae craftsman Kiko Bun to name a few… Spanning across a mind boggling array of genres, this multidimensional festival that has something for everyone; from music to theatrics and all that could be discovered in between, Boomtown’s line ups can’t help but reflect the vast inspirations that pull it all together.
