I didn’t like you anyway is a sentiment many of us will have expressed throughout relationships in our lifes – whether we actually mean it or not afterwards, those words (or similar ones) are very easy to relate to. With his brand new single I didn’t like you (and I really mean it), Danny Wright has captured that feeling and boxed it up into an incredibly catchy slice of pop-rock.
With an instantly memorable guitar hook in the first few seconds of the song, I didn’t like you (and I really mean it) will draw listeners in and lodge itself firmly in their brain for weeks on end, especially the track’s huge chorus. Described by Danny as an ‘Anti-Valentines anthem’, it’s very easy to see why the track is already impressing radio DJ’s across the UK, including Kerrang Radio’s Johnny Doom, who gave the song it’s grand unveiling just after Valentines Day 2018.
The song is very personal to Danny, as he explains below:
‘This is a song I’ve been sitting on for a long time, I had a bunch of songs that have been in the works for years, I recently had a horrible anxiety attack which led to a course of therapy sessions. They really helped and a lot with my music blocks, it gave me a more of a ‘fuck it’ attitude. Made me want to get this stuff finished, get to work and get on with it.
‘I didn’t like you (and I really mean it) is one of those songs that lets you get out everything you wish you had said before and embrace the single life. You’re better off alone if its not with someone who encourages you rather than the opposite.’
