We got invited down to the Exchange in Bristol to see Miss May I, Fit For A King, Void Of Vision and Currents who are currently on their UK tour. Promising a Thrash /Metalcore evening, each band certainly delivered.
First to hit the stage were Currents, signed to Sharp Tone Records and all the way from Connecticut USA. Sweet picking sensations with a mash of heavy chugging breakdowns and bass drops, bringing a slice of American Metal to our British waters.
Playing songs from various albums including current album The Place I Feel Safest released in June last year.
Currents sound similar to bands such as Devil Wears Prada, Of Mice and Men, Like Moths To Flames and of course the headliner Miss May I. Brian came out for a cheeky interview, check it out below.
Following on were Void Of Vision all the way from Melbourne Australia, these lads smashed The Exchange in two. Metalcore to the max these lads are similar to bands such as Parkway Drive, A Day To Remember and many more.
With their hardcore aggressive tones and heavy breakdowns beating down from the speakers Void Of Vision made everyone feel electrified. Mosh pits opened up as these Australian Metalcore geniuses laid the stage bare.
Signed to Rise Records these lads are one to check out, in the meantime, we caught up with Jack for a little interview below.
Fit For A King, also from Texas, America, these brothers came over to play on the Miss May I tour. Fit For A King made mad amounts of mosh pits, countless circle pits, bass drops and breakdowns. Not fitting into one sole box genre, they give the listener a range of metalcore / post hardcore beats to breakdown to. Check these lads out if you like punching down breakdowns and feeling like your face is melting off due to the metalcore melodies produced by these talented individuals.
Finally, Miss May I took to the stage the headliner of the night left me with only a few words to describe the set… purrreee emotion, purrreee power, purrreee finesse Miss May I didn’t disappoint on looking UK fans. Giving so much passion shown in the aggressive and heavy chuggy floor dropping beats made everyone of your nerves tingle. Metalcore cross Thrash Metal makes for a loud energetic emotive performance. These lads set The Exchange on fire, as every fan chanted back lyrics and moshed along and moved with the bass drops and breakdowns. These guys gave a good show and would definitely see again.
