Following the release of their latest single Young, pounding grunge band Blood Dope Honey announce an extensive UK tour for March 2018.
Lead singer and guitarist Luke Phillips gives some background on the band: ‘If you imagine Dinosaur Pile Up and Smashing Pumpkins had a baby, then you’d be about halfway there with Blood Dope Honey! We play driving, powerful alt rock with a dash of grunge thrown in to keep things interesting.’
Drummer Jamie Smith gives some further insight: ‘We’ve been honing our sound in our little sweatbox rehearsal room since late 2015. Once we really got our live set down, we decided it was time to get out there and start building a fan base. We played extensively around our hometown to anybody that would listen, and it’s helped us develop a real grassroots following. All those long hours in a very cramped and hot practice room are paying off!’
Indeed, bassist Thomas Edge explains that the band hopes their upcoming tour will be a springboard into really getting their name out there: ‘We’ve mainly just been playing consistently in our hometown area, so the prospect of hitting the road and putting on a killer show for some new people is so exciting! We really pride ourselves on our live energy, so whoever is lucky enough to catch us on tour is in for a real treat!’
The band have spent the past year honing their live show and profile, securing massive support slots alongside the likes of Massmatiks, Baby In Vain and The Kut.
