Sailor Jerry – the bold and smooth spiced rum – is unlocking the doors to Jerry’s Open House; an all-in month-long pop-up in Glasgow from 15th February to 15th March. Set in an old warehouse on Houldsworth Street in Finneston, this co-created space is inspired by the legendary tattoo artist Norman ‘Sailor Jerry’ Collins and will be open to local Glaswegian creatives and students alike.
There’s something for everyone at Jerry’s place with a month-long calendar of events; which kicks off with Glasgow’s very own Honeyblood on 15th February, get up close and intimate with An Audience with Frank Carter followed by a rare acoustic gig, compete to have your work displayed on the venue walls and enjoy some of the finest drinks in town. When not hosting, the raw and open space lends itself to band rehearsals and society socials – whatever you need, Jerry’s Open House is yours to make your own. Whilst you’re there pose in the instagrammable tattoo studio, grab a Jerry Loves Ginger cocktail and soak in the flash art work.

JERRY’S OPEN HOUSE-WARMING, 15th February
It’s the housewarming of all housewarmings and the party to be seen at. Be part of the action and see up and coming Glaswegian acts take to the Sailor Jerry stage, with performances from alternative musical duo Honeyblood and special guests. Jerry Loves Ginger and so will you, welcome drinks of Sailor Jerry will be doing the rounds on the night. HOUSE GUEST: FRANK CARTER, 21st February
Jerry’s Open House will play host to Frank Carter, (of Frank Carter and The Rattlesnakes and formerly of the Gallows and Pure Love), for two special events. Bring those burning questions you’ve been buzzing to ask him, and join the open ‘An Audience With’ conversation with Frank during the day. Come night, he’ll be playing the intimate ‘Sailor Jerry Presents’ acoustic gig alongside bandmate Dean Richardson.
BACK 2 BACK, 26th February
Sailor Jerry’s looking for the top artistic talent in Glasgow. If you’ve got the skills – we want to see it. Compete to have your work displayed on the walls of Jerry’s Open House by submitting a design in whatever medium you fancy – as long as it takes inspiration from the father of American old school tattooing Norman ‘Sailor Jerry’ Collins. Go with Rossi’s philosophy and, “Do Epic Shit. Eat good design. Shit bad design”. Winners will be announced at the art workshop on 26th February.As part of the grand prize you’ll get your name in lights via a profile piece in Aesthetica magazine, read by all the in-the-know art aficionados and curators.
OPEN WORD AT JERRY’S OPEN HOUSE, 6th March
It was all about stories with Sailor Jerry, he had so many to tell and wasn’t known to hide from a crowd. Go all in and get up on stage to share some of your own with the local community at the Spark Story telling workshop on 6th March. Be it funny, emotional or exhilarating, if you’re the one keeping everyone round the campfire from dusk ‘til dawn with your tales, this is your five minutes of fame. For budding rock stars, don’t miss out on entering the ‘Glasgow Unsigned’ competition for a chance to win a blow-your-mind prize. Your band will play Jerry’s Open House, get studio time to record a limited-edition Vinyl EP, shoot your own professional music video and have a personalised photoshoot.
