Following the release of their latest single Boy, Indie Rock ‘n’ Roll band ‘The Trusted’ announce an extensive UK tour for February 2018.
Lead singer Tom Cunningham gives some background on the band: ‘We play what some would call “Indie”, if ‘Indie’ means great songs with catchy, memorable riffs and rousing choruses then that’s what we do! Some people call that rock and roll. Simply put, we write and play guitar-based songs that we all like and others seem to as well. It’s a simple formula, but one that works!’
Guitarist Dale Holt-Mead gives some further insight: ‘We’ve been likened to bands as diverse as The Killers, The 1975, The Rolling Stones and U2. Drawing influences from those bands, as well as classic songsmiths such as Springsteen and Elvis Costello, we write guitar-based rock and roll that sounds as powerful live as it does recorded. But it’s all in the live performance! Our sheer energy is what really gets the crowd going.’
Indeed, bassist Fin Cunningham explains that the live show is where it all comes together: ‘In the past 12 months, we haven’t stopped for a second! We’ve played over 70 shows, and we’ve really honed what it means to be a tight live band. We strike a balance between making sure we play as tightly as possible, while ensuring the crowd can really get into it and feel the energy in the room. It’s all about give and take when you’re performing!’
The band have spent the past year perfecting their live show and profile, securing massive support slots alongside the likes of Nothing But Thieves and Kate Nash, as well as racking up over 120,000 plays on Spotify and regular BBC Radio airplay.
