Live Review: Defining Our Demons at The Fleece Bristol

Defining Our Demons

New onto the scene, Defining Our Demons were bringing back all the cores into one brilliant performance at the Fleece in Bristol last Sunday. Metalcore with a mix of Electronicore and copious amounts of crabcore thrown in, these boys slayed the Bristol front. It’s definitely nice to see with a newish band, emulating so much passion as they rocked the Fleece playing all their own content. Such songs as; The Upside Down which brought so much energy to the stage starting how they mean to go on, Crimson King that showed the power of front man Aaron Francis’s vocal range with the mix of clean and heavy gutturals, Defining Days, Stratton Oakmont, Passion produced so much energy and was an electrifying performance.

Defining Our Demons

They rained down riff after riff with heavy breakdowns and bass drops that shocked your body to the core. Several crabcores later they ended on a high with The Name Is Karma this song was my favourite of the night, with every member putting in their all, making the venue come alive that made the evening quite special. Similar to bands such as Parkway Drive with a mix of Enter Shikari these guys not following suit of the typical metalcore standalone music, mixing the genres makes the performance a very unique and fresh experience for the audience who are used to the constant chugging sounds and heavy moody tones of metalcore today.

Defining Our Demons

No content available yet but hopefully soon in 2018, you may spot these lads rocking a venue near you and bringing the crabcore back. If you haven’t already give these boys a follow and go support your local scene. Check out a video of the night below!

More and more venues are closing their doors and it’s you guys and the bands that keep this music scene going. For anyone looking for an energetic band to warm up the crowd, I definitely recommend Defining Our Demons. Soon to be supporting THE HERO DIES FIRST tomorrow in Cardiff at the Moon Club. With free entry on the night, why not share a beer or two with these fellas and see for yourself.
