Frontman Ash Wilson explains, ‘This EP started off as a single puzzle piece, but when it was finished, the final segment signed off something magical that echoes in our hearts! It’s an indecisive, dangerous slice of reality, which we all face every day’.
Recorded and produced with Lower Than Atlantis’ guitarist Ben Sansom at Titan Studios in Watford, the Lincoln trio have developed a momentous sound. ‘It was refreshing to work on this with Ben. Being in that environment really inspired us to push our boundaries on this’.
The EP packs a fierce punch right from the get go, opening with the previous kickass single Dangerous!, which premiered on Kerrang! Radio with Alex Baker who has now played it for four consecutive weeks.
The upcoming single Crazy shows rugged dynamics, leading with funky basslines and solid drum beats followed by the epic ‘My Life’ and the melodic sounds of ‘Spotlight’, demonstrating Wilson’s impressive vocal abilities.
Closing the EP is the alt-rock belter ‘Indecisive’ and the first single Know Your Name, which planted the band firmly on the radar of the likes of Kerrang! Radio’s Alex Baker who quoted, “If this is a sign to come from Kill The Ideal then we’re all in for a treat”.
The EP has been two years in the making, inspired by their day-to-day lives and experiences including Wilson’s battle with bullying during his childhood saying, ‘when writing the EP, the level of anxiety, anger, confusion and happiness was beyond measure and now it is out for release all I can feel is anticipation!’
It follows their debut 2015 Heritage EP, that firmly introduced the band to the UK rock scene where they have toured with the likes of Black Peaks, Decade, Lonely The Brave, Holding Absence and more. With support from the likes of Loudwire, Upset Magazine, Punktastic and Total Uprawr, BBC Introducing have now come on board and invited the band in for a live session following the release of the EP.
They will be playing an intimate stripped-back EP launch show in their hometown, where fans who pre-ordered the EP will gain free entry. They will also be joining the likes of Circa Waves, Pulled Apart By Horses, Arcane Roots, Gnarwolves and Dead! at 2Q Festival in Lincoln on October 28th, where they will be playing the Rock Stage.
The trio, made up of Ash Wilson (vocals/guitar), Luke Farmer (bass) and Jordan Bell (drums), are hyped and ready to launch their career to the next level with the release of the new EP.
