Live Review: Victorious Festival 2017

Hampshire’s Victorious Festival took place last weekend in front of over 100,000 fans that provided just about everything for everyone – By Imogen Carvell.

Friday night headliners were Madness who took to the stage with a packed out crowd playing some of their classic songs like Baggy Trousers, It Must be Love and Our House.

Over at the Real Ale Stage there were many more acts such as Craig Charles Funk & Soul which had me dancing for over 2 hours so well worth going to check him out and Monkeylove Stunt Team was the first to take to the stage and really had people moving.

Craig Charles

Saturday on the Common Stage saw Feeder came on to the stage to a packed crowd at 5.20 as they played classics such as Buck Rodgers and more. Jake Bugg performed a very nice set and had a lot of people singing along to some really nice music.

Headlining at the Common Stage saw Stereophonics and they were truly amazing to watch live and got the whole crowd singing along to some of their most famous songs like Have a Nice Day and Handbags and Gladrags as the atmosphere was incredible.

Meanwhile, Rita Ora was headlining the Castle Stage and she really did have the whole crowd on their feet with her with a great dress sense and dancers surrounding her.

Before Rita Ora, there was a band called Band of Skulls which I really enjoyed and there was also a lot of very good bands playing on the acoustic stage. I like most people was sat there listening to the stunning sound of the guitar solos from the likes of The Bootlegs and Tom Grennan. The headliner Benjamin Francis Leftwich was really something special and I would urge anyone to see him live.

Sunday night featured one of the best line ups of the weekend.

Headlining the Castle Stage was Olly Murs which blew the crowd away doing his dance routines and his singing was superb as usual and the bands leading up to it was really cool. Also playing on the stage was Raye, Temples, Kassassin Street and plenty more

The band for me on Sunday night was Elbow and I felt they gave an amazing end to the festival leaving everyone wanting more. Overall the festival was one of the best family festivals around having loads of fun for all ages.

There was a DJ tent for the little ones which had Princess characters dressed up and all the kids were enjoying joining in with the fun. It had everything from a great selection of food outlets that left you spoilt for choice
to craft stalls and glitter stalls. It was really nice to see everyone having fun with their faces painted and glitter.

I would recommend anyone of all ages come along next year to Victorious Festival 2018.
