Deaf Havana announce November tour

Ahead of the release of their fourth album, All These Countless Nights on So Recordings in January, Deaf Havana frontman James Veck-Gilodi said ‘this album needs to take us to a higher level.’

…and it did just that. A career best UK Albums Chart Top chart position and sell-out UK headline tour followed, a testament to the quality of the quintet’s efforts and a reward for the testing periods that helped shape its narrative.

‘We have been doing this for rather a long time, so over the years we have become very grounded and learnt never to expect anything and always be grateful, but the reaction to the new record has far exceeded our expectations and reassured us that continuing with Deaf Havana was definitely the right thing to do,’ says James.

Fast forward a few months, and the band’s burgeoning festival calendar for the summer further suggests the only way is up for the Norfolk band, boasting appearances with Kings Of Leon, Aerosmith and Placebo as well as their first ever Glastonbury, playing The Other Stage on Sunday 25th June.

The next single to be released from All Our Countless Nights will be ‘Happiness’, the most personal Veck-Gilodi has written to date. “Happiness was created after a rough period I had in the summer of 2015, I was feeling awful about my strange idiosyncrasies and mood swings and how they can take a huge toll on personal relationships,” he explains.

‘It’s hard to explain to a loved one why you have to get up and go home halfway through a meal in a restaurant or why you don’t want to leave the house for 3 days in a row. It would also be unfair to expect them to completely understand something that they have never experienced. The song grounds me and reminds me that I have to take into account other people’s feelings and mindsets, those things that I write about will never fully go away but each song is a small step towards accepting and coping with them, and ultimately towards happiness.’
