NYC-based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Megan Talay (who performs under her last name) will release her new S/T EP on June 2nd. Co-produced by Greg Mayo (Bernhoft, Delta Rae) and Zach Jones (Sting, A Great Big World, Wakey! Wakey!) and mixed by Ducky Carlisle (Demi Lovato, Rooney), it showcases her infectious pop-punk vibe and clever, snarky lyrics.
The new EP finds Talay tackling a range of relatable topics — her first single explored the awkwardness of living with your parents in your 20s, and today, she shares a song about something we can all relate to: breakups. In this case, it’s a breakup with a narcissistic musician (and the not-so-well-wishes that follow.) You can stream Talay’s I Hope Your Band Goes Nowhere where it premiered with Ladygunn or via Soundcloud.
Talay has been playing iconic New York venues since she was 16, winning over fans with her infectious on-stage persona. In addition to her own project, she has become a sought-after session musician and spent some time playing in the highly-praised Guns N’ Roses tribute band Guns N’ Hoses.
Talay has a handful of NY & Philly shows coming up, including an EP release show at Brooklyn’s Alphaville. See below for a full list of dates.
