Liverpudlian Pop Punks WSTR have at last released their debut album, Red, Green Or Inbetween via No Sleep Records. Vocalist Sammy Clifford says of the LP: ‘It’s mainly a breakup album, however it’s not a ‘fuck you’ album it’s more a ‘mad at myself’ album.

‘The title is based on being stuck in limbo or in the ‘in-between’.

‘Amber is also the name of a significant friend of mine who most of the songs are about, so it’s a pretty sad boy record.

‘It’s all about kicking myself for not stepping up when I had the chance and coasting through life making bad decisions.

‘The artwork is a voodoo doll which is meant to represent me, as I sometimes feel like someone is out to get me with all the bad luck I have.#

RGOI, produced and mixed by Seb Barlow at Celestial and mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music, follows the success of their debut EP SKRWD (No Sleep Records – Sept 2015). SKRWD aided the band in going from strength to strength, achieving accolades that most acts don’t achieve in a career, off the back of only one 6-tracker. 2016 saw WSTR, completed by guitarist Kieren Alder and Danny Swift and bassist Alex Tobijanski, grace stages in the UK and Europe with international touring bands such as Neck Deep, ROAM, A Wilhelm Scream & Creeper; on a headline tour; and warmly welcomed onto established festival slots, at Slam Dunk Festival, 2000 Trees, Hevy Fest, Destruction Derby and Butserfest.

In support of the release, WSTR today kick off a run of acoustic in-stores and will play as main support to Canadian pop punks Seaway into February. With these scrappy wasters more than happy to get in the van, you can only expect to see more of the quartet, with Clifford stating: ‘Putting out an album is a big scary step, but it’s been a long time coming and we’re ready to see what the world has to say and hopefully see some more of it.’
