Hot on the heels of the release of their sophomore album Say It Out Loud, released in July of 2016 on Hellcat Records, LA based ska-punk quartet The Interrupters have announced a run of UK headline shows following their prestigious support to Green Day on their arena tour in February.
‘We had a couple of free days after the Green Day tour so we thought, why not add a couple of headline shows,’ states frontwoman Aimee Interrupter. ‘It’s been too long and we are stoked to be coming back to the UK!’
Produced by Rancid’s Tim Armstrong, Say It Out Loud captured the bands frenetic energy and revealed a whole new boldness to their songwriting. Undeniably fun but urgent in message, The Interrupters back their 2-Tone-tinged, guitar-fuelled yet melody-heavy sound with lyrics that confront everything from social control and self-empowerment to domestic violence and the media circus that surrounded the presidential election. In short, The Interrupters are a band to make you laugh, smile and dance but they’ll also make you think.
Since their formation in 2012, The Interrupters have forged a formidable bond that deeply informs their music. ‘Loyalty, family, friendship, and unity—with upstrokes,’ sums up guitarist Kevin Bivona. ‘That pretty much sums up The Interrupters and what we are all about.’
