Victorious Festival set to take place this weekend

Victorious Festival takes place this bank holiday weekend (27th – 28th August) as thousands of fans will attend to watch some of the world’s finest acts. The festival gets bigger and bigger every year and with it being on the same weekend as Reading & Leeds, it has to keep on providing awesome line ups. Luckily for Portsmouth, the festival keeps on doing that with the likes of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Travis, Levellers and so many more acts to feast your eyes on. Saturday’s Common Stage sees Bob Geldof’s Boomtown Rats that are set to sing classics such as I Don’t Like Monday’s as the 70/80s band will certainly look to prove that they’re not past it. Brighton based Levellers as they bring nearly 30 years of experience of folk punk for what is set to be an awesome 30 minute set. Travis will be performing later that evening as the Scottish band will some smiles to a lot of peoples faces with classing such as Flowers in the Window and Why Does it Always Rain on Me?.

 80s Welsh rock band Manic Street Preaches will then top the line up with James Dean Bradfield leading the way singing songs from arguably their most notable albums Holy Bible and Everything Must Go among others. BBC Radio One DJ Annie Mac will be headlining the Castle Stage while the likes of Editors, Rat Boy, Izzy Bizu and more will join her beforehand. The festival will also see Emmy The Great headlining the Rhino AV Acoustic Stage, Ska Dogs, Bear and the Woods, Matt McGowan among many more over nine amazing stages. On the Sunday Will Young will be among the artists on the Common Stage with London rock band Eliza and the Bear also taking to the stage. Public Service Broadcasting will bring some of their well known songs to the festival such as Spitfire as the duo are set to wow the crowd with their pseudonymous musical talents. Former Oasis singer Noel Gallagher will headline the festival on Sunday with his High Flying Birds. At nearly aged 50, the singer/guitarist will play songs from the band’s latest album Chasing Yesterday. The band also plays a number of Oasis covers such as Champagne Supernova and Wonderwall. Oasis session pianist Mike Rowe and former Oasis drummer Chris Sharrock will also be in the line up.

Mark Ronson will bring his DJ set on the Castle Stage with the likes of Wolfmother, Jack Savoretti and more that are set to play before him. Political singer songwriter Beans On Toast will also be headlining the Acoustic Stage while a Madness tribute act are set to play at the Casemates Seaside Stage. Rob Green, Jerry Williams, Space, Kassassin Street are also among the many acts playing on the Sunday looking to impress the Portsmouth crowd.
