Alt/rock quartet Sun Arcana have just released their brand new single Hard To Be Around, via Easy Life Records alongside the official video. Led by frontman Tom Harper-Ward’s raw yet soaring vocals and complimented by the band’s stellar musicianship, the track explores accepting your own insecurities and being optimistic. Of the track, Tom has said, “For me especially being in this band and being a musician, I find myself getting stressed and having a lot of anxiety, but I know things will get better.” Watch the video for Hard To Be Around, here and stream the track here.
The four-piece have also announced the release of their EP, Just Another Dream Away. The 5-track EP will arrive on 15th November, via Easy Life Records. Having holed themselves up in their native Essex, they wrote the tracks together and also worked alongside Chris Coulter (Jamie Lenman, Arcane Roots), Gustav Wood and John Taylor (of Young Guns) and Adrian Bushby (Muse, Foo Fighters). The result is a very honest and vulnerable but powerful body of work, sure to see the band continue on a very promising and exciting journey. Tom declares, “It feels so good to be releasing music again. I can’t explain how hard it has been not being able to show everyone what we have been up to. I think it was necessary to have a reset and come back with a bang.”
Showing no signs of slowing down, Sun Arcana are gearing up to headline The Grace (formerly Thousand Island) in Islington, London on 26th November. Last year saw the band cut their teeth on the live circuit, where they played festivals such as Reading & Leeds, 2000 Trees and The Great Escape to name a few, and supported the likes of The Xcerts, The Maine and more. Tickets for the band’s headline show at The Grace go on sale Monday at 10am, here.
