EP Premiere: Parlors self titled EP

After years of initial demos and a number of attempted band names, Parlors took to the studio in 2018 after honing in on where they wanted their sound to go. Recorded in the heat of a New York summer, Parlors’ self titled EP is instead apt to soundtrack the twilight hours of an autumn evening in this same city the band calls home. Melodies from both Matt Fullam (vocals, guitar) and lead guitarist Hart Mechlin dance on top of a hefty rhythmsection backed by Matt’s brother Dan on drums and bassist Matt DaSilva. Debut single ‘State Lines’ earned the band a feature in Kings of A&R as well as The Deli, with a string of shows set in the coming months. Through a concoction that might have otherwise required the Eagles (of 1972) to abandon their acoustic guitars and invite Queens of the Stone Age for a ride east to meet The Strokes in an East Village studio, Parlors have found a fresh take on modern indie rock while keeping one eye in the rearview on their influences who have come before.
