Donnie Willow Reveal ‘Toys’ Video

Following support at BBC Radio One and Kerrang! Radio for previous single ‘Blessed Company’, Glaswegian alt-rockers Donnie Willow have today revealed the video for Toys, the new single taken from their forthcoming EP Exhibition set for release on 9th June 2017 via Sunbird Records.

The EP will be released digitally and on limited edition 10” vinyl, and is available to pre-order now.

Commenting on the track, frontman Arthur Piddington said: ‘Toys is a song about money: the endless cycle of working a job you don’t want to work so that you can afford to take another step closer to what it is you actually want to do, and then feeling like you’re back at square one.

‘Personally, it was about the three of us maxing out overdrafts so that we could record and release the last record, ‘Inhale. Exhale.’ A worthy investment in our opinion, but we are still repaying some of those debts. At the time of writing the song I was also very conscious of the fact I needed to replace broken gear, but couldn’t really afford to do so.

‘Eventually, one day I just thought, ‘F*ck it’ and bought a new guitar. Totally worth every penny, but financially it was a terrible idea. That decision inspired the lyrics of the track.’

Also announced are a run of UK tour dates for June 2017 with fellow alt-rock band Rory Indiana, including two special Scottish EP release show in Glasgow and Edinburgh (details below).
